The Umbrella Academy’s mysterious Jennifer accident theory has been explored

When you hit “play” in the first episode of season three of The Umbrella Academy, you undoubtedly had a number of questions that you hoped had been answered.
You race through the installments with the utmost zeal, delving deeper into the rabbit hole of perhaps the wildest season yet. The end concluded and provided some answers. On the other hand, more attractive questions were asked.
The American superhero series, created by Steve Blackman and adapted from the comic book series of the same name by Gerard Way, has given fans plenty to digest when it returns to Netflix on Wednesday, June 22, 2022.
There are plenty of avenues to explore but one, in particular, seems to have encouraged the most discussion and speculation.
Of course, we can only talk about the Umbrella Academy Jennifer incident…

The Umbrella Academy Jennifer Incident Was Discovered
Ben’s death has been a mystery in the minds of fans widely since it was addressed at the start of the series.
The circumstances surrounding his death are still unknown, but the third season drops the most promising evidence to reveal the secret so far. Dive into the latest season, audiences relish memories of Ben’s 2006 funeral.
He was 17 years old and died while on a mission that headed south.
In the aftermath of the sequence, there has been some speculation that he may have committed suicide. However, the ambiguity surrounding the details opens the ground for other theories.
The biggest break comes when Luther penned “The Jennifer Incident”, followed by Victor finding drawings of a girl named Jennifer covering the walls of Ben Sparrow’s bedroom.
With that in mind, it’s clear that both versions of Ben had a connection or interest in a girl named Jennifer, although there are different results in both the Umbrella and Sparrow meditation timelines.
Theories are beginning to emerge
Scenario Highlighting the fact that Sparrow Ben only has photos of Jennifer and is clearly obsessed with her in some way may indicate that she died in Sparrow’s timeline.
Drawing parallels between the two timelines, references to the Jennifer incident make it likely that the 2006 assignment took place with Jennifer’s participation in both accounts; The two alternate versions of the mysterious character.
Pictures on the wall could indicate that she and Ben shared a romantic relationship, or that it was unrequited love. Theorizing, it could be that in the canopy timeline that Ben sacrificed his life on the mission in an attempt to save it, while Sparrow Ben was unsuccessful and dwells on tragedy – hence the infatuation bleeding into his room’s decor.
Looking back at the funeral scene in Season 2, Sir Reginald says “…and feel free to sacrifice themselves for another” during the eulogy, which arguably reinforces the theory, leading us to believe that Penn Sparrow has been plagued by his decision to conserve. His own skin instead of Jennifer’s.
Just tell me how Ben died.
Of course, the reality remains to be seen. But that didn’t stop fans from thinking about their thoughts on Twitter.
