We’re almost halfway through the current Fortnite season, and we’ve seen some exciting challenges with this week that requires players to toss in expendable pickups.

This week, we had more challenges than usual, as players needed to complete a total of nine challenges in order to get the full XP for the week. Getting XP is very important in Fortnite because it is used to level up your Battle Pass, which in turn can be used to get a large number of rewards like cosmetics, items, and much more. While players will get consumable pickups in almost every match, not many realize how they can throw them while playing a match.

Before you can throw these pickups, you first have to get them. Fortunately, this is not a very difficult task as consumable pickups are found all over the map and you should be able to get them pretty quickly. Once you have the item with you, you need to make sure you don’t accidentally consume it. Instead, equip it in your hand and aim it as you normally would with any weapon. Then simply press the fire button on the controller or mouse, and your character should throw the consumable pickup.

If you’re wondering what consumer pickups are, this is straightforward. Basically, the items that can be consumed are those that fall under this category. These include shield potions, berries, bandages, medkits and others. Do note that these items must be different and you cannot throw the same item three times in the game to complete the mission. Once you throw three of these items, the mission should be completed and you should get the rewards.
