How to get to the Prehistoric Planet Show page and learn about the series

Sir David Attenborough’s nature documentaries are famous for being some of the best TV shows ever made, and now the historian and nature broadcaster is turning his attention to the dinosaurs in his latest series, Prehistoric Planet.

At the end of each episode, the presenter offers viewers the opportunity to learn more about the science behind the prehistoric planet by visiting the documentary’s screening page.

However, some fans have been left confused as to what exactly the Prehistoric Planet showcase page is and how to access the additional content it contains.

Prehistoric Planet release date and summary

A prehistoric planet makes its way to our screens on Monday, May 23, 2022.

From executive producer Jon Favreau and the world-renowned natural history unit at BBC Studios, Prehistoric Planet lifts the lid on dinosaur life like never before, narrated by legendary Sir David Attenborough.

Set against the backdrop of the Cretaceous period, this amazing documentary series explores the unknown and surprising facts about the life of dinosaurs, revealing what life looked like in different environments around the world; From coasts and deserts to worlds of ice and forests.

What is the Prehistoric Planet View page and how to get there?

The Prehistoric Planet page is simply the page on the Apple TV+ website or app where you find the show. It is not a separate site.

To find this, you can either search for “Prehistoric Planet” while on the app or website, or select the Prehistoric Planet tab if you can see it when your Apple TV+ is on.

To find bonus content that explains more about the science of the documentary, simply scroll down the page, past the Trailers section, until you reach Bonus Content.

What is the bonus content?

The additional content in question is a series of videos detailing the research behind some of the scenes in the documentary.

One of the videos focuses in particular on the scene in Episode 1 where we see Tyrannosaurus Rex and her babies swimming to reach a secluded island.

The video explains how the researchers behind the program likened Tyrannosaurus Rex to one of their closest living relatives, emus and ostriches, and how they were able to swim quite successfully and applied this to the T-Rex.

In conjunction with the release of Prehistoric Planet, two of the above videos have been made available on Apple TV + YouTube and anyone can watch them for free.

Prehistoric Planet is now available to stream + Apple TV After its release on May 23, 2022.
