The Magpies have been linked with Gallagher all summer and according to Romano, the Chelsea midfielder is a player the Tyneside club absolutely love.
Unfortunately for Eddie Howe’s side, Gallagher won’t be joining the club anytime soon.
Indeed, according to Romano, the Blues have yet to make a decision on a midfielder and Newcastle will have to wait before landing the midfielder.

Romano shared what he knows about Gallagher.
“Of course Conor Gallagher is part of their list, he’s a player they love, but it depends on Thomas Tuchel and it depends on Chelsea. They will have to wait a bit on Gallagher to see what Tuchel decides, and the same with Broja. They have to wait and that’s enough for Chelsea’s talents,” Romano said.
It’s worth the wait
Newcastle may have to wait to land Gallagher, but if they can get him, he will be worth the wait.
Gallagher was absolutely fantastic at Crystal Palace last season and his all-round style of movement would fit in incredibly well alongside both Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton.
In fact, Newcastle would potentially have one of the best midfielders in the Premier League if they were to sign Gallagher.
Guimaraes and Joelinton already have an incredible understanding with each other, and Gallagher will combine with the Brazilian pair to form a truly fearsome trio.
Newcastle don’t get the biggest names in world football, but they are quietly building a fantastic core of young, talented players who can take them to the next level.
