Now, 45 years after Elvis’ funeral, Linda has shared her memories of those grieving few days in Memphis, with photos of her and others in mourning.
The 72-year-old posted on Instagram: “Elvis’ funeral took place on August 18, 1977. I had boarded the first commercial flight from Los Angeles that I could get after receiving a fateful phone call from Lisa Marie to tell me her father was dead. It was both a shock and a heartbreak. I will never forget him, and he will remain in the memory. The love from his loyal fans who remains strong has a lifting power and I am grateful for it. Elvis’ music, his history, his memory and his legacy live on….”
Then Linda moved on to share the secret way she honored her old lover at his funeral.
